Please be sure to check your latest statement for a note concerning "Love Songs" for Valentine's Day" It went home with your student hopefully this week. I hope all of you will be joining me the evening of February 21st at Christian Haven Home to entertain the residents with our favorite Love Songs for a belated Valentine's Day. We will be serving them cookies, (and perhaps a couple of you could help me get that together) after their evening meal at 5:30 in the evening. Students please let me know if you can attend and I will be sure to put you on the schedule, simply taking a moment to share your gift of Music will make me smile and I believe a few of the residents as well. See you there.
Sincerely
Janet Standish
Happy Holidays to all of you, and thank you to so many of you who managed to join us on Wednesday evening to entertain the residents of Christian Haven Home. The men and women there enjoyed the evening and assured me that all of your children are genius's, but we all knew that didn't we. I know how difficult it is to squeeze in one more thing this time of year, but your efforts and talents were definitely appreciated by all of the people who told me so, many times over after all of you had left on Wed evening. Thanks again, and please enjoy the pictures on this web site and don't hesitate to let me know if you would like a copy of one. A reminder I am not teaching on a regular schedule the next two weeks as we enjoy the Holiday season, but lessons are available to those who would like, on a somewhat limited schedule both weeks, on Monday afternoons and Tuesday mornings. Have a Very Merry Christmas, May we remember our Many Blessings and face our many challenges. And May the New Year Bring us all Peace and Optimism.
Merry Christmas
Sincerely
Janet Standish
Have your children done something unusual with their talent to give a gift, send a note, participate in a performance at Church or in a talent show? Please be sure to share with me and with your permission I would love to share it with all of my students and their parents.
Cookies and Carols
Wednesday, December 17th
Please join us as we celebrate the Holidays and share our time and talents with the residents and staff of Grand Haven Christian Home.
I was so pleased when a number of my teenage students asked if we could return to Grand Haven Christian this year. Last Year (our first year to celebrate the season in this way) was definitely a success and they are so pleased to hear we would like to come back.
So grab your music, a smile and some cookies and come join us on Wednesday December 17th at 6:30 PM at 704 Pennoyer in Grand Haven.
Everyone is encouraged to play “but there is no pressure” and everyone is asked to visit with the residents and deliver plates of cookies and smiles. We hope to have enough of you playing to fill about an hour and a half.
Parents please join us, sit, have a cup of coffee, visit with each other and the residents and enjoy the music of the season.
Looking forward to seeing all of you there!
Sincerely
Janet Standish
Hi Parents and Students
Today it is hard to believe with all of the beautiful weather we have been having, however....The Holidays are just around the corner. Time to dig out your Christmas Music and bring it along to lessons. A lot of you have moved well beyond the book that you may have had last year. Some of you are now into larger more comprehensive books, that we will be glad to pick up again and move on in. And still others (my beginner students) will be playing Christmas Music for the first time. Parents of my young beginners. Be on the look out because Christmas is about to come early to your house. I apologize for competing with the stores, in shifting your attention to Christmas so prematurely, but in my world it is important that you hear the sound of Christmas Carols in your home on Christmas Eve. So we start in the next week or so to make sure there is a wide range of Christmas Carols in your child's repertoire this Holiday Season :-)
See you next week. Questions or concerns call 616 296 0282
Sincerely
Janet Standish
